Festival Day 2
Talk 1: Impact Innovators: Building a Healthier World- Serena Williams, Reckitt, and Acumen
My Notes…
It’s important to be uncomfortable.
Only 2% of venture capital goes to women-funded companies, when women bring a 35% return rate.
Reckitt Catalyst is to make a change by supporting health and hygiene companies.
Talk 2: James Blake on The Magic And Rigor of Unfettered Creativity- James Blake
My Notes…
James Blake started his career with his father introducing him to the art of music.
He discovered that just because he might not be the right fit or similar to the artist he’s collaborating with, that person knows their audience best. He recognizes that sometimes, you just have to keep quiet and follow their lead.
Talk 3: More is More: A Rationally Exuberant Path to Success- Goodles
My Notes…
Be known for many colors, not just one.
Most important form of advertising is packaging.
Every detail matters.
Talk 4: CMO’s In The Spotlight- Infosy’s, Nestlé, and American Express
My Notes…
American Express did a partnership with White Lotus and customized travel itineraries, wellness retreats, and a cocktail to the show. This brought relevance to the company as White Lotus was a cultural moment.
Nestlé stepped out of their comfort zone talking about periods which brought a lot of good attention to the brand.
Talk 5: Advertisers vs Creators: Who Really Built Poppis US$2Bn Sale?- Alix Earle
My Notes…
Showmanship creates fame, and salemanship brings growth.
Poppi grew because the owner became a creator, showcasing behind the scenes which people liked.
Poppi jumped on trends quickly.
Alix Earle invested in Poppi, showing how much she truly cared and invested in the brand, showing authenticity.
Talk 6: Brand Pitch Collab- @GirlBossTown + Shopify
My Notes…
Thought of a Frankies Bikinis x Goodles collab. We pitched the idea to Robyn DelMonte and Jessica Williams, who loved the idea and actually Robyn posted on us on her TikTok (go scroll and find it… it was pretty cool)!
The collab would be packaged in a Goodles x Frankies box with the suits having pasta charms on them.
This collab would promote body positivity and open up a whole new audience for both brands.
